Workshops & CEUs

Iredell-Statesville Schools uses LINQ as it's Professional Learning Management System. It can be accessed through Timekeeper to:

Ensure professional development is aligned to district strategic priorities
Communicate professional development opportunities
Register participants for professional development topics
Manage room reservations
Develop course rosters
Monitor course completion, satisfaction and impact of training through end of course surveys
Assign and track Continuing Education Units
Communicate to participants the status of their professional development transcripts

A participant must register for the workshop and sign-in on Workshop Sign- In Sheet in order to receive credits. Failure to do so before the workshop is closed will result in forfeiture of CEUs.

Registering for Workshops

Register for a Workshop (Participant)

From Faculty & Staff tab on I-SS home page Select Time Keeper
Log in as you normally would
Click on Workshop Registration from the menu on left
In the “Available Workshop “section Click on Descriptions to get workshops in alpha-order then Scroll to find the title of your workshop. You can also search by the date of the workshop. There are no course numbers at this time
Click on title
At the bottom of the web page click “Register”, then Click “Yes”
You can un-register if you wish with Un-register button at bottom of web page
Log out at top of page or be timed out
Time Keeper has a rather short cycle time and you will be timed out if not interacting with the platform

Receiving CEUs for Completed Workshops

Reserving a room for meeting (NO CEUs awarded).

Out of District Workshops Template Submission

Finance’s prior approval/reimbursement process has not changed
Workshop template submission and documentation process has changed
Submission of workshop template and Certificate of CEUs take place after the workshop is completed
From Faculty & Staff tab on I-SS home page Select Time Keeper
Log in as you normally would
Click on CEUs from menu on left
Click on View/Submit CEUs for approval link
Click + Add New

Complete the following fields and upload CEU certificate

Completion Date : Enter the date the workshop ends
Course Code: Leave Blank
Location: Enter where the workshop was held
Type of Credit: Leave Blank
Course Types: Leave Blank
Description: Enter the title of the workshop
Facilitator : Enter Out-of-District
Credits: Enter total of hours awarded for this workshop
Credit Breakdown: Enter the total hours beside the type of credit received for this workshop
Supporting Document
- Description: Enter title of workshop
- Click on upload file button
- Search for the uploaded certificate
- Click Save

Open the LINQ System
From the File tab click on Open
Choose Human Resources
From the Human Resources page choose the CEUs/Workshops tab
To create a new workshop, click on Create New Workshop
Enter the details for the workshop:
- Status: N/A
- Course Code: N/A
- Description: Enter the name of the workshop
- Course Completion Dates: Enter the date the course will be completed
- Location: Enter name of room workshop will be held in
- Facilitator: Enter ISS
- Max Capacity: Enter the number of participants allowed to attend workshop
- Registration Start Date: Enter the date you are submitting the workshop
- Registration Cutoff Date: The last date the workshop will be available for registration in Time keeper
- HQ – N/A
- CEUs : Enter the number of CEU credits
- Credit Breakdown: Enter the type of credit(s) to be awarded
- Syllabus: Description of the workshop and any other instruction
- Directions: N/A
- Notes: Enter the name of the person submitting the workshop and the name of the person that will be facilitating the workshop and enter the budget code for subs if needed
Workshop Schedule Tab
- Enter the times for the workshop one each day that the workshop will be presented.
- Enter room location if room requested on the workshop page is not available for all days
- Dates and times will show up in Time keeper
Workshop Attendance Tab
- This is where you will see who has registered for the workshop
- Participants will register through Time keeper
- You can delete participants by clicking on the red minus button
- You can also enter notes that can only be viewed by those with security rights to edit workshops

We believe that professional learning improves the knowledge and skills of our faculty and staff, and can lead to changes in classroom practice and increased student learning. Professional development that is not on-going or collaborative (aka One-Shot Workshop) rarely translates into classroom application or student impact. Research shows that the most effective professional development combines meaningful job-embedded practice with support from instructors through on-going feedback and coaching.
