The I-SS Model
What does continuous improvement mean in I-SS?
It means that teachers and staff are empowered in making decisions that impact curriculum, instruction, and assessment. It means that staff members are heavily involved in looking at data to make decisions, not only about student learning, but also about finance, maintenance, personnel, and building decisions. It means that the board of education completes a self-assessment and creates an improvement plan just like every school, department, and classroom teacher. And it means our school district operates transparently and that our stakeholders have easy access to our policies and our processes.
What continuous improvement ultimately means in I-SS is that we will reach the mission of producing productive citizens and that we will reach our vision igniting a passion for learning.
