Weathers Creek High School

Iredell-Statesville Schools held the official groundbreaking ceremony on Friday, April 5, 2025.
The target date to open the new high school is August 2027.

The high school is designed to serve 1,600 students.

Weathers Creek High School is located at 245 Overcash Road in Troutman, North Carolina.

Official boundary lines have not been set, but Weathers Creek High School will relieve overcrowding at Lake Norman and South Iredell High schools. 

Teal, black and white are the school colors.

Weathers Creek High School will be home to the Falcons. 

Adams and Associates, architects from Mooresville, North Carolina designed the new high school.

A committee composed of representatives from the school district (Teachers, School Administrators, Central Office Personnel, Members of the Board of Education, and the Superintendent) along with two of our County Commissioners helped provide input into the design. 

Yes. Phase I will include a performing arts center. Athletic facilities, including a football/soccer field, field house, concession stands, baseball field, softball field, and tennis courts, will be part of Phase II. A timeline for completing Phase II has not yet been determined.
