Courses from the JROTC can be used to meet the 2 Elective Credits or the 4 Elective credit in a four course concentration

JROTC IA (95012X0A) 1CR

Location:       NIHS, SIHS, SHS, WIHS
Grade Level: 9-12
Course Description: This course is designed to focus on citizenship, building teamwork, and developing discipline and self-confidence. Course work will include U.S. citizenship (Constitution), leadership, career awareness, consumer awareness, oral communications, learning styles, conflict resolution, character education, health (lifesaving first aid, and drug awareness), PE (weekly physical training), earth science (map reading) and U.S. military history overview. Cadets are required to participate in weekly uniform inspections and appropriate service grooming standards. Selected cadets will be assigned squad level leadership roles.

JROTC IB (95012X0B) 1CR

Location:       NIHS, SIHS, SHS, WIHS
Grade Level: 9-12
Prerequisite:  JROTC IA
Course Description: This course will focus on citizenship, building teamwork, and developing discipline and self-confidence. It is a continuation of JROTC IA coursework. Cadets who have not taken JROTC IA may be permitted to register for this course with permission from the instructor.

JROTC IIA (95022X0A) 1CR

Location:       NIHS, SIHS, SHS, WIHS
Grade Level: 10-12
Prerequisite:  JROTC IB
Course Description: This course will focus on leadership, citizenship, teamwork, and motivation. Coursework will include written communications, presentation techniques, leadership and management, values and ethics PE (weekly physical training), aid, hygiene, and drug awareness), earth science (map reading), U.S. military history (Cold War era 1945-1991), U.S. Citizenship (civil rights), career awareness and technology awareness. Cadets rotate platoon level leadership roles.

JROTC IIB (95022X0B) 1CR

Location:       NIHS, SIHS, SHS, WIHS
Grade Level: 10-12
Prerequisite:  JROTC IIA
Course Description: This course will focus on leadership, citizenship, teamwork, and motivation. It is a continuation of JROTC IIA coursework. Cadets rotate platoon level leadership roles.

JROTC IIIA (95032X0A) 1CR / JROTC IIIA Honors (95052X0A) 1CR (.5 GPA Pt)

 Location:       NIHS, SIHS, SHS, WIHS
Grade Level: 11-12
Prerequisite:  JROTC IIB
Course Description: This course will focus on leadership citizenship, and team building. Coursework will include communication process and reading, leadership, PE (weekly physical training), health (first aid, stress, and drug awareness), earth science (map reading), U.S. military history (1865-1945), U.S. citizenship (judicial system), career awareness, personal financial management, and technology awareness. Selected cadets will be assigned company level leadership, and battalion staff positions.

JROTC IIIB (95032X0B) 1CR / JROTC IIIB Honors (95035X0B) 1CR (.5 GPA Pt)

Grade Level: 11-12
Prerequisite:  JROTC IIIA
Course Description: This course focuses on leadership, citizenship, and team building. It is a continuation of JROTC IIIA coursework. Selected cadets are assigned company level leadership and battalion staff positions. JROTC SAI must approve cadet enrollment for JROTC IVA.

JROTC IVA (95042X0A) 1CR / JROTC IVA Honors (95045X0A) 1CR (.5 GPA Pt)

Grade Level: 12
Prerequisite:  JROTC IIIB
Course Description: This course will focus on leadership, citizenship, team building. The course will include practical exercises in oral and written communications, leadership (ethics), drug awareness, U.S. military history (1775-1865), PE (weekly physical train-ing), and career awareness. Cadets will be assigned to company and battalion level command and staff leadership positions. Cadets are responsible for peer teaching JROTC IA – IIIB cadets in all areas of the curriculum under the supervision of military instructors.

JROTC IVB (95042X0B) 1CR / JROTC IVB Honors (95045X0B) 1CR (.5 GPA Pt)

Prerequisite:  JROTC IVA
Course Description: This course will focus on leadership, citizenship, team building. It is a continuation of JROTC IVA practical exercises. Cadets will be assigned to company and battalion level command and staff leadership positions. Cadets are responsible for peer teaching JROTC IA – IIIB cadets in all areas of the curriculum under the supervision of military instructors.
