INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE PROGRAMMES

IB CONTINUUM

Established in Geneva, Switzerland in 1968, the International Baccalaureate Programme is a global leader in international education. To this end the International Baccalaureate Programme partners with over 5000 schools in 156 countries to develop challenging programmes that encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who can respond to daily challenges with optimism and an open mind.

In 2012, South Iredell High School was authorized as an IB World School. Since then, we have worked each day to embrace the mission of the International Baccalaureate program to "develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people to help create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect". Currently, SIHS has the distinction of being one of only 2 IB Continuum schools in North Carolina, offering three IB programs on one campus.
